Frequently Asked Questions
Japan-Direct Since 1997!
How can I place an order?
Please refer to the section on Order Information.
How are the units shipped?
We ship via Japanese overnight mail which links to your country's overnight mail postal service. Shipping is fast and reliable. When the shipment arrives you could have to pay for all customs duties and taxes. Customs duties vary by country. Marking the package as gift, which we can do if your package is a gift and you so request, usually speeds up delivery and eliminates the possibility of this charge.
What is our service and warranty policy?
If your unit fails in the first week of use you can return it to us for a free complete replacement.
We provide a Japanese domestic warranty ( 1 Year) as opposed to an international warranty ( 3 Months). Minidiscs are very mature technology and failures in the current units are very rare.
However, in the unlikely case you would need service, you simply send the product back to us with return postage, we have it repaired and then return it to you. We provide this service for free.
However, in the remote case where warranty service was needed, some MiniDisc owners have had success with getting service from the manufacturer in their home country. To confirm your need for warranty please send an e-mail to service@Japan-Direct.com
**NOTE: Laptop and PDA LCD screens are not 100% perfect. Dead pixels and minor cosmetic defects are considered incidental by both manufacturers and Japan-Direct.com. They do not constitute a deficiency or qualify for warantee service.
Will the tuner on MiniDisc players work outside Japan?
Partly.. Japan uses the FM wave band range 76 MHZ to 90 MHZ while most other countries use other frequencies.
